Charlie began his formal circus training at 11 years old with the Anhui Acrobatic School in China. He soon began touring the world as a performer with the Anhui Acrobatic Troupe in 1974. He performed a variety of skills, including juggling, group acrobatics (flying), spring board jumping stunts, unicycle, Chinese pole and lion dancing. He performed at an international level for 26 years, before returning to his home troupe in 2000 to hone the craft of teaching. He taught at the Anhui Acrobat school, and the prestigious Shanghai Acrobat school for many years before joining us here at NICA where he shares his expertise, training our emerging artists in unicycle, rola bola, object manipulation, slackwire and acrobatics.
