NICA COVIDSafe INFORMATION

COVID-19 UPDATE

Victoria's current lockdown commencing 8pm Thursday 5 August has been extended until 11.59pm Thursday 23 September (check www.ddhs.vic.gov.au for more information).

All NICA’s Short Course classes and training programs are temporarily on hold. Term 3 will be cancelled for the balance of term (through to Saturday 18 September) and credits for all COVID cancelled classes will be provided. Based on the current situation, we have made the difficult decision to also cancel the upcoming Spring Holiday and Come & Try Circus Day programs.

NICA will remain closed until we are given assurance from public health officials that it is safe to reopen.

If you have any questions, please email shortcourses@nica.com.au.

COVID TERM CLASS INFORMATION SHEET

Please note the following procedures that must be adhered to in order for us all to be safe and remain open:

  • All staff and Short Course students are required to enter and exit from the foyer door only and QR code check-in. Note, QR code check-in applies to ALL participants - parents must check in with children’s details on arrival
  • All COVID cleaning protocols are to remain in place
  • Masks (12 years +) are currently mandatory indoors and should be carried with you in case you cannot maintain social distancing
  • Physical distancing still applies when not participating in training activities.

ADDITIONAL COVID PROTOCOLS FOR AERIAL EQUIPMENT

NICA Short Course aerial classes are designed to accommodate our regular ratio of 1 trainer to 8 participants with equipment being shared between small training bubbles.

As per term 4, there are limited aerial points available and the use of individual apparatus within classes will only be permitted if you are deemed to be in a high risk health category, and if we can accommodate personal equipment without impacting on the learning experience of the rest of the class.

Risk Mitigation Controls in place:

Use & handling of apparatus

  • Use hand sanitiser before/ after use of shared equipment.
  • Equipment designated to training group bubbles.
  • Rotating and resting of equipment.
  • Wearing face coverings (if safe).
  • Individual rosin socks are available at the check in desk for use personal use during classes.

General safety

  • Physical distance protocols apply
  • Conditioning/stretching exercises performed on own yoga mats (4mm recommended), body length towel or blanket.
  • Contact records kept and readily available – so the workplace can respond quickly if someone becomes unwell.
