NICAmites (5 & 6 years)
Tumbling, aerials, acrobalance & more

This class introduces a wide range of circus activities. Every class starts with an aerobic warm up (e.g. games such as "tiggy", "ship and shore" and "cat and mouse") and full body stretch. Children work on foundational tumbling skills each class, and then rotate in groups through a variety of circus skills including manipulation (juggling, diabolo, hula hoops), aerials (tissu, static trapeze, aerial hoop, cloudswing), tight wire, chinese pole, adagio, hoop diving, and trampoline. Circus is a great way to develop strength, flexibility, confidence and coordination.

Age recommendation: NICAmites is designed for 5 and 6 year olds, and 7 year olds who have not attended group or circus classes before. If you would like to discuss, please contact Short Courses prior to enrolment.

Family Time
Adult and child doing circus together!

Kids, bring your grown up and try some circus together! As well as being the perfect base for standing on and balancing off, your grown-up can lift you up, toss you around and keep you safe when you are in the air. This fun half hour class will teach you all sorts of great circus tricks to do together. Designed for the children of the NICAmites classes, participants must be 5-6 years old and have a current enrolment in either the Wednesday or Saturday NICAmites class.

Note, one adult per child. When you enrol your child, make sure to include the name of the adult attending if different from the person making the booking.

NICAdets (7-12 years)

Monday 5:30pm - 7:00pm (1.5 hour class)
Wednesday 5:30pm - 7:00pm (1.5 hour class), or
Saturday 9:30am - 11:00am (1.5 hour class)

Aerial Extension (8-12 years)
Build your aerial skills!

This is a class for budding young circus stars who can’t get enough time up in the air! Open to the currently enrolled students of the NICAdets and Superdets classes, this one hour aerial class will give them additional time to develop their tricks and build on their aerial repertoire.

Saturday 11:45am - 12:45pm

Kids SUPERdets (10-12 years)
Progressing general circus skills

For children 10-12 years who wish to accelerate their circus learning. This class will build on their already established basic to intermediate skills and advance them to the next level. There will also be a focus on developing strength and fitness. At least 2 terms of circus experience required. Before enrolling, please phone through to Short Courses on 9214 6585 to check your child's suitability.

Wednesday 5:30pm - 7:00pm (1.5 hour class)
Saturday 9:45am - 11:15am (1.5 hour class).

NICAbouncer (7-12 years)
Trampoline & Tumbling

Learn the fundamentals of tumbling and trampolining then move onto intermediate skills and create simple routines. (Fast track and pit trampoline will also be used when available.)

Acro for Dancers (10-14 years)
Cartwheels, walkovers and aerials

Designed for dancers, this acrobatics class will introduce drills and safe progressions for young dancers who want to achieve consistent cartwheels, handstands, walkovers and aerials. Additional benefits include increasing strength, flexibility and coordination.
