Over four weeks, the Circus Directors Masterclass Series brings together four leading professionals in circus direction to share their unique processes, tools, and insights. Each week offers a deep dive into a different directing style, giving participants a rare opportunity to explore multiple approaches to shaping circus work.

This series is designed for alumni, industry practitioners, and anyone curious about the role of the director in circus. With direction being one of the most pressing topics in the sector, these masterclasses open a space to learn directly from experienced voices, exchange ideas, and strengthen artistic outcomes across the industry.

Participants will:

Eligibility criteria: this course is open to industry professionals at any stage of their career. If you are a performer thinking of adding directing to your repertoire, someone currently directing your own shows who wants to add some more tools to your belt, or a circus worker of any variety who is interested in learning about direction, this course is for you. We are also open to directors of physical theatre, theatre, dance, opera, film, or performance art, so long as you have some familiarity with circus.
