Sez (they/them): Noun - a brightly coloured, self-proclaimed “pocket rocket” raised by the likes of their backyard trampoline. See also: Adrenaline Gremlin. 

For Sez, childhood was synonymous with weekly visits to the local gymnastics center, laying the groundwork for a future filled with acrobatics and stagecraft. As adolescence dawned, the allure of the spotlight beckoned, leading them to embody Disney villains like Maleficent and Scar with uncanny precision. This newfound passion propelled Sez towards the stage, where they delved into the world of acting at the esteemed McDonald College for Performing Arts.

Their journey continued with training stints at the Australian Theatre For Young People and Legs on The Wall, culminating in a spectacular debut professional performance. Despite their theatrical successes, Sez felt the irresistible pull of the acrobatic lifestyle once more. Seizing the opportunity, they dove headfirst into a Bachelor of Circus Arts at the National Institute of Circus Arts.

Sez has toured professionally throughout Australia with ensemble companies including One Fell Swoop, Long Answers for Simple Questions and performed in multiple cabaret lineups throughout the Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth Fringe Festivals. Sez regularly performs acrobatics for Melbourne based agency NICA Represents and appeared as an aerialist for Opera Australia’s production, Die MiesterSinger. 

Always keeping things exciting, Sez’s most recent stage endeavour entails comedy burlesque routines through Melbourne’s Maison Burlesque.
