NICA Digital Open Day

NICA DIGITAL OPEN DAY

SET THE STAGE FOR A CAREER IN CIRCUS

SATURDAY OCTOBER 10 AT NICAAPPLICATIONS.COM

This year for the first time the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) have reimagined their popular pre-audition workshops into a live interactive online format. On Saturday 10 October 11am to 4pm the virtual event will be live-streamed at nicaapplications.com.

As the only national arts training institute to offer a Bachelor of Circus Arts, positions at NICA are highly sought after and attract Australia’s most talented, physically gifted and creative young performers through a nation-wide talent search.

The Digital Open Day will provide an insight to aspiring applciants into what NICA assessors are looking for in a successful audition as well, a deep dive into the NICA curriculum and will feature some successful NICA alumni who will reflect on their circus careers since NICA, including Jamie Bretman (Dummies Corp, 2012 NICA graduate), Luke Ha (Australian Ninja Warrior, Australia’s Got Talent, 2014 NICA graduate) and Georgia Webb (Circa, 2019 NICA graduate). Audiences will be able to ask questions live about the audition process or any part of studying at NICA.

NICA’s Head of Circus James Brown and other trainer will be giving personalised feedback via video for anyone struggling to master a particular skill for their audition.

NICA’s innovative curriculum includes individual and group circus acts, performance and movement skills, circus history and cultural studies, circus business and career management; anatomy, physiology, nutrition and sports psychology for circus artists and health and safety in the circus environment.

NICA graduates have joined nationally and internationally acclaimed companies including Cirque du Soleil, Dragone (China), Cavalia (Canada), NoFit State Circus (United Kingdom) alongside Australia’s Circa, Circus Oz and Carnival Australia.
