Emma Henshall

Emma Henshall is the only Australian to have ever won a gold medal at 30th Festival Mondial du Cirque du Demain (Worldwide Festival of the Circus of Tomorrow), in Paris in 2009.

She has since gone on to perform Trapeze with Cirque du Soleil in their show Iris at the Kodak Theatre (home of the Oscars) in Los Angeles.  Her Trapeze routine has been billed as a “stunning” romantic 1920s silent movie era act.  She also performs a broom and hat juggling duet with Robert Webber.

Emma, who is originally from the Melbourne suburb of Boronia, graduated from the Bachelor of Circus Arts at NICA in 2006 at age 20, and in her first year she was awarded the May Wirth Memorial Trophy for the most outstanding female student.

After graduating Emma continued her training as a student of renowned aerialist for Cirque du Soleil Victor Fomin in Montreal, where she performed with non profit organisation La TOHU – “one of the world's largest gathering places for circus arts training, creation, production and performance.”

While working towards selection for the Cirque du Demain, Emma trained six days a week for five to six hours each day.  Her dedication paid off.  Not only did she win a gold medal, she came away with three other top prizes: Prix du President de la Republique, Prix Franco Dragone Entertainment Group and the Prix du Moulin Rouge.

Emma has also performed in KDO! (pronounced 'cadeau,' meaning gift) by Franco Dragone at the Forest National in Brussels.

She has her own Youtube channel at:
