Ben Lewis

Ben began his career in the circus at the age of seven, with the Flying Fruit Fly Circus, completing 10 years with the company. 1992 – 2001. 

Already a consummate performer he was accepted into the 3 year Bachelor Degree program at the National Institute of Circus Arts. 

At NICA Ben specialised in Aerial Straps, Hoop Diving and Chinese Pole but is well known for being an all rounder and is an accomplished acrobat with high skills in Tumbling, Handstands, Hand to Hand and Teeterboard.

Whilst at NICA Ben was granted the “Most Outstanding Student” award for first year.

Graduating from NICA in 2004 Ben moved straight into professional work becoming part of the multi skilled “Australian Resident Company “ performing Daily at the 2005 World Expo in Nagoya, Japan for six months.

Upon his return Ben became one of Australia’s most prolific circus Artists performing all over Australia and the World with renowned companies such as Circa, Dislocate, La Qlique and Circus Oz as well performing acts and small shows for various corporate events. Ben has also been a founding member and collaborator with many new and emerging shows and small companies such as “Throw Down”.

Since 2008 Ben has been an integral part of Aussie super group “The Tom Tom Crew”. 

Produced by Strut and Fret Production House The Tom Tom Crew has been a huge international success wowing audiences over the world with its unique brand of pumping tunes and hard-core acrobatics.

From the Edinburgh Fringe to Broadway New York, from sell out Seasons in London, Berlin and throughout Europe, to Taipei, New Zealand, the Adelaide Fringe and most recently Montreal.

It seems Ben Lewis and the Tom Tom Crew are unstoppable forces in the ever growing field of contemporary circus.
