More InformationSocial Circus Contact

Social circus is the common term for using circus as a tool for social change. NICA provides training for Social Circus Instructors in conjunction with Cirque du Soleil’s social circus arm, Cirque du Monde. This unique training assists circus artists, trainers, arts, youth and social workers using circus training with youth at risk or marginalized groups.

Since 2002, free Social Circus training has been delivered to over 250 participants.

Over the past 8 years NICA has been working to engage young people in circus activities. These successful projects build confidence, self esteem, increase fitness, explore cultural identity and engage marginalised young people. The communities are as diverse as the Gulf of Carpentaria, Alice Springs, Broken Hill, Margaret River and Melbourne.

Cirque Du SoleilCircus can be used in working with youth at risk, marginalised groups, Indigenous groups, the mentally or physically disabled, juvenile offenders and survivors of assault. NICA welcomes enquiries from sponsors and organisations wishing to support or participate in these important initiatives.
